Pardon - Free, Full, and Fixed - Hebrews 8 part 2

"For I will be merciful to their iniquities,
and I will remember their sins no more."
(vs 12)

This closing section on the benefits and blessings of life in the new covenant is heart stirring. Here is the glory and awe and wonder of redemption written in black and white. Does your head not shake and your mouth drop open even to read these words? God is declaring pardon to the criminal. He is wiping the record clean and declaring those who were His enemies to be enemies no more!!!

Mr. Henry's words soothed my soul this morning and have moved me to praise. Hear him:

"God articles with them about the pardon of their sins. First, the freeness of this pardon. It does not result from any merit in man, but from mercy in God. Second, the fulness of this pardon; it extends to all kinds of sin. And finally, the fixedness of this pardon. It is so final and so fixed that God will remember their sins no more; He will not recall nor recant His pardon. It is the effect of that mercy that is from everlasting to everlasting, and the earnest of that mercy that shall be to everlasting. Therefore we have great reason to rejoice."

"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us." (Ps 103:12) Beloved, God is merciful!!! Pardon is free, full and fixed. Walk in the freedom Christ has provided for you. Oh, blood bought children, He will always remember us but never our sins! Soli Deo Gloria!

Pardoned,
Lori
